“The Senate President’s proposal moves the right direction towards keeping premiums affordable for small businesses, which employ so many of our patients. Partners deserves recognition for taking a big first step, but it must also be recognized moving forward that community and DSH hospitals do not have the same levels of reserves, or margins, as some of the larger teaching hospitals. The proposed limits on insurer administrative costs seem fair and reasonable, and 1199SEIU also fully supports proposals to increase the transparency of contracts between insurers and providers.”
